Sidewinder now supports the use of images as titles in the tabs (like shown here) or the use of plain text. Of course, instructions are in the manual.

This is the sidewinder Stack. Sidewinder lets you create a horizontal accordion! You can add up to 10 panels. You get to choose which panel displays when the page loads. You pick colors, heights, widths, etc. You are in control when you use sidewinder! Click on the tabs to see what's possible.

This is my New Stack which I've named, "Sidewinder". Sidewinder is a horizontal type accordion. It is extremely customizable. The current display is for a 6-panel layout. You can choose from 3 to 10 panels. Flip through the panels and read more about it.

<<< That's the Sidewinder logo.

You also determine the width of the viewable area, the height of the display, the gap between toggles, the width of the toggles, the color of the active as well as the inactive toggle bars, the content background color and on and on. Each of the panels is a Styled Text area, the workhorse of the RapidWeaver lineup. That means you can include text, photos and all sorts of RapidWeaver goodness.

I forgot to mention that with a handy built-in slider you choose which panel displays open when your page loads. Sweet! Of course, it wouldn't be worth a hoot if it didn't work across all browsers. Sidewinder has been tested in all three flavors of that IE browser, Firefox on both Mac an PC and works like a champ

Well, by now you've seen that I've crammed a lot of content in a very small space. You can fit an enormous amount of content in a relatively small layout.

What will you put in your Sidewinder??

Here I have added a small slideshow generated in PhotoAlbum. I simply used PlusKit to bring it into my page.

Well, reached the final panel and I'm running out of things to say. I hope you enjoyed our little tour of Sidewinder. Grab yourself a copy.

To the right you can see the HUD for the stack. You get to determine things like:
  • Number of visible panels: choose 3 to 10
  • Width of the viewable content
  • Which panel opens when the page loads
  • Sidewinder's height
  • Content background color
  • Width of the Activator tabs
  • Color of the active tab
  • Color of the remaining tabs
  • Font color
  • Gap between adjacent panels (peek)

As you can see, Sidewinder is very versatile.

Hope you enjoyed Sidewinder. Since Sidewinder is a Stack, you can position it just like you would any other stack. This particular Sidewinder is sandwiched between a couple of Styled Text Stacks.
