El Wink-o Stack

Say hola to El Wink-o. He's the sexy new Stack for displaying your images with dual animated information panels that "wink" at your viewer when they mouseover your images.

The images themselves can act as links to other pages, prettyPhoto, Flowbox or any number of other items. And since the title and caption fields are Styled text areas, they can also support links, images and all the other goodnes that comes with Styled text.

Of course, you'll need to have a copy of RapidWeaver and Stacks to make use of it. But, who doesn't have those, right?

You may have multiple El Wink-o's on a page.

The Stacks

El Wink-o displays your images like no other Stack. It sits quietly in the background waiting to show off your title and descriptions of your images. When the viewer hovers over your image, El Wink-o displays a title on a top panel that eases down from the top of your image and simultaneously displays a caption panel that eases up from the bottom of the image. The effect of the opposite-acting panels is much like an eye winking... therefore, the name El Wink-o.

Try the demo images below. Each has borders selected to complement the subject matter and each has a different transition speed set. Notice that the height of the panels is customized to fit the amount of content you have. Also notice that the title and caption fields are Styled Text areas and support the use of images too!

Hummingbird

Hummingbirds are among the smallest of birds They can hover in mid-air by rapidly flapping their wings 12–90 times per second (depending on the species). They can also fly backwards, and are the only group of birds able to do so.

Each of the images above is also viewable in prettyPhoto. The hummingbird image is the link for that image. For the Storm display in prettyPhoto, I've included a link in the caption field of El Wink-o. Just hover and you should see it.

To the right you can see the HUD for the stack. You get to determine things like:

Whether or not to include JQuery. Your theme may already have it loaded!
A unique Id to allow you to add many El Wink-os to a single page and style them all differently!
Border color
Border width
The size of the Title Font (upper eyelid)
The color of the Title Font
The height of the upper panel (upper eyelid)
Title alignment (centered or left-aligned)
The size of the Caption Font (lower eyelid)
The color of the Caption Font
The height of the lower panel (lower eyelid)
The transition speed.

As you can see, El Wink-o is very versatile.
